One Pot Meals – Friendship Soup
Friendship Soup Mix – Our most popular and favourite soup mix. A Family-Size Soup Mix that’s packed with flavour, split yellow and green peas, red lentils, barley and pasta make this a heart healthy comfort soup mix. Easy to prepare on the stove top, slow cooker or insta pot! Make with or without meat, it all ends up making our tummy’s feel full and satisfied. A fantastic gift to send to anyone anytime!
Makes 8-10 servings.
What you Will Need:
- 8 – 10 Cups Water
- 1 – 28 oz. Can Diced Tomatoes, undrained
- Optional Ingredients: 2 Cups Chicken, Turkey or Beef, precooked
Stove Top Method: In large pot, add Tomatoes, 10 Cups Water and Soup Pack (Pasta Removed). Mix well. Cover; simmer until peas and lentils are tender, 4- 6 hours. Add pasta (and meat if desired), cover and cook until al dente.
Slow Cooker Method: Add all ingredients to slow cooker (pasta removed). Cook ALL day. When desired texture is reached, add Pasta (and Meat if desired), cover, cook until pasta al dente.
Insta Pot/Pressure Cooker Method: Set for 1.5 hrs, add ingredients (pasta removed). Once done, add pasta (and meat if desired) and cook until al dente.
Suggested Meal Tip:
Serve with a Mixed Green and Walnut Salad with Cubed White Cheddar and Poppyseed Dressing OR Baby Spinach & Strawberry Salad with Crumbled Feta Cheese and Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing.
Top Soup with Homemade Seasoned Croutons and grated Parmesan Cheese OR add a fresh sliced of Homemade Bread on the side.
